Whenever I work on a pedal, I always double check that I am supplying the proper voltage. No need to blow up a pedal that’s just in need of a little TLC. I had a Small Stone Phaser that wasn’t working, found that the battery clip was bad and then went to test it using the bench supply. Should be a no-brainer, the jack is a 1/8″ mini so +9 tip positive, right? Except above the power jack it says “AC”. ??? I look on the Electro Harmonix website and it says that the standard supply is +9 tip negative??? Supplies listed for replacement say the same thing. ALL WRONG. It is indeed a +9v tip positive supply.

Noisy pots can usually be cleaned up easier than you think. Often no solvents are necessary and if you do use a solvent, use as little as possible. I find that most of the aerosol cleaners dispense far too much solvent and can affect the "velvety feel" of the pot....
Ampeg B15 bias weirdness
